Unit conversions

This utility is provided to assist with unit conversion issues related to fracture mechanics quantities. Please note that there are limited error checks in place to trap data input errors. However, sensible input should yield useful output!

Changing any of the unit settings automatically updates the output value. If any of the input number fields are changed you should then also click anywhere in white space to have the output value updated.

Precision of output values

Set the required precision of the output fields with these two options:

Conversion for stress intensity factors

Set the input value on the left hand side and one or both units.

Conversion for Paris / Walker equation "C" coefficient

Set the input values of C and n where da/dN=C(DK)ⁿ or da/dN=C[(DK)(1-R)^(m-1)]ⁿ and one or more of the units.

Conversion for length units

Set the input value on the left hand side and one or both units.

Conversion for pressure / stress units

Set the input value on the left hand side and one or both units.

It is the responsibility of all users to verify conversions independently.
