Advanced structural analysis


Zentech provides a comprehensive advanced structural analysis and design service. This is based on the use of finite element analysis for solving problems which often contain complexities in structural geometry, material behaviour (plasticity, creep, visco-elasticity, composites, elastomers) and loading.

We apply finite element analysis to a range of engineering problems including:

  • fatigue and fracture mechanics
  • dynamic analysis
  • heat transfer analysis
  • thermal stress analysis
  • coupled thermo/mechanical analysis.

Our expertise in advanced structural analysis has led to the development of Zencrack - a powerful state-of-the-art capability for modelling and analysing 3-dimensional cracks. Zencrack can be applied where knowledge of crack behaviour and crack growth prediction are critical issues, for example, in the aerospace, nuclear, manufacturing and offshore industries, in fatigue-testing laboratories and in damage tolerance assessment.

Zencrack utilises the finite element method via interfaces to Abaqus, Ansys and MSC.Marc extending to users all the capabilities within these codes.

Zentech was U.K. agent for the MSC.Marc program, for a period of eight years, providing benchmarking services to new customers and front line support to existing users.

Completed projects include quasi-static, dynamic and random vibration analyses of aircraft stores, and a range of fracture mechanics analyses.

The company is a corporate member of The National Agency for Finite Element Methods and Standards (NAFEMS).
